Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What file types can be loaded into PerfPRO?
A: There are several types of both performance and course files that can be loaded into PerfPRO. Refer to the
File Compatability page for more information.
Q: Can PerfPRO load up CDF files created by RacerMate's Coaching Software and Multi-Rider?
A: No. That filetype can't be read at this time. Both the Coaching Software and Multi-Rider have an auto-export feature that will convert the CDF file to a text file. This file can then be read into PerfPRO. Be sure to set the "Toss" value within
the export options to a value range of 15 to 20. This will decrease the size of the file and speed up the loading process with no loss in accuracy.
Q: Can PerfPRO export any of my performances to other file types?
A: Yes. PerfPRO can export to the PowerTap CSV filetype as well as its own version of a CSV file. Do this by opening the performance then selecting the "Save as PowerTap" option from the Reports pull-down button.
Q: How can I email graphs and report information to my coach, fellow athletes, and Mom for her refridgerator?
A: There are functions for both the graphs and reports to copy all the information to your clipboard. You can then paste into your email software if it excepts the HTML format. You can also use the "Post to Web" function to upload the report to the PerfPRO website. A link is then provided that you can email to friends. Lastly, there is "Post to Web and Email" option. By setting up the template email within options you can then post a report to the web then get prompted to send an email to the associted rider.
Q: Is it possible to manually enter data into PerfPRO?
A: Yes. Use the "Manually Enter a Performance" option from the File menu or press Control-M.
Q: How can I use my Garmin CRS/TCX course files with PerfPRO?
A: Garmin history and course files can be used to extract the elevation/heading data to create a CompuTrainer 3D course file (.3dc). This information can be pulled directly from your Garmin device.
Q: Can my Garmin TCX History file be used with PerfPRO?
A: Yes. Garmin history file(s) can import its performances into PerfPRO. PerfPRO is smart enough to know what you have already imported and will only display what is new.
Q: I want to import a GPX file to create a 3DC CompuTrainer course, but the file is missing elevation information.
A: Because the GPX file contains Longitutde/Latitude data, PerfPRO can determine what the elevation is for each
point and set an elevation. PerfPRO pulls SRMT elevation data from the USGS website to make this happen.
Q: I experiment with other training tools and notice sometimes the amount of elevation climbed/descended isn't the same from application to application. Why?
A: Most of these tools, including PerfPRO attempt to smooth out the elevation/gradient spikes throughout the course. Each tool applies their own formula for
smoothing these spikes out so there will be differences. Until a standardized method of calculating this formula created you will see differences.
